These water-processed decafs are really quite good. Even the most die-hard coffee drinker will have a hard time telling this is anything but real coffee.

This replaces our old generic Colombian water process decaf, and this is basically the Colombian Mercedes Supremo we sell, sent off by our supplier for decaffeination. We were really happy to find it, because the full-strength version is great, and now we can make a half-caff, as well!

This is the first CO2 decaf we've stocked, and while I'm a bigger fan of the Mexican water process, this Guatemalan is good if you're trying to cut down on caffeine. Brighter and somewhat less sweet than our Colombian.

This replaces our Unleaded Espresso blend, for a few reasons:

• We've been unable to get our hands on the Kenya decaf that made Unleaded particularly tasty;
• We don't sell decaf espresso here in our shop, which upsets about every 20th customer;
• We couldn't get the Kenya anymore.

I'm not going to lead you down the primrose path: this stuff is not as good as Unleaded, a lot less time has gone into devising it, and I've taken on a bit of a heartless attitude about decaf in general lately. Unless you're someone with a caffeine-sensitive medical condition, I highly recommend drinking one of our real espresso blends or fantastic single origins, and stopping early enough that you can get to sleep. :)
