Coffee Emergency stocks a well-rounded selection of the finest beans the world has to offer, roasted to perfection and shipped to your home or office.

When we say "fresh," we mean it. Our beans are roasted after we receive an order. We date our bags right on the front so you can be sure you're getting coffee that is guaranteed to satisfy. We'd also like to suggest that your current roaster won't make the same guarantee. Never hurts to ask!

If you don't think there's a difference, it's probably because most of the coffee you've had was stale. Ever had a cup that really stood out, even at a place you patronize regularly? That's what our coffee tastes like all the time. Let us spoil you.

Roasts:

City - Completely through first crack but not to second; medium brown
Full City - Darker brown; just to the start of second crack
Vienna - Taken deeper into second crack; beans may be spotted with oil
French - Very dark and oily; carbony flavor; we don't roast anything this way unless you order it!

Coffee roasting is a balance between "origin flavor" (the unique characteristics of a region's beans) and roast flavor. As the roast level increases, the varietal nuance decreases. After the Full City stage, roast flavor begins to take over. At a French roast, there is little difference in flavor between any two coffees. While a French roast may have a "stronger" flavor, the damage done to the beans' structure at such high heat tends to give the brew less complexity and depth. Some beans will tolerate a darker roast, but we usually stop at Vienna unless you request French. We'll roast anything in any style that makes you happy!

We try to keep our list up to date, but coffee is a fleeting thing...we don't buy in huge quantity, so some origins may be out of stock by the time you order, and prices sometimes change, as coffee is, of course, a commodity.
